A Message from the
MOE Web Team Mentor

As the MOE Web Team Mentor, I am proud of what our dedicated students have accomplished.

First, no site management program such as FrontPage® or Dreamweaver® has been used.

We have been blessed with some very talented coders who have:

• Created a PHP structure for the site incorporating cascading style sheets
• Set up password protection or hidden access for confidential Team information such as the roster and detailed travel plans
• Enhanced our HTML code to include new tags, and continually adapting to current web design, and coding standards such as div statements and CSS to replace earlier types of formatting
• Upgraded our code (on some pages so far as noted; a work in progress) to meet W3C accessibility standards
• Adapted a licensed Milonic menu navigation system and a Human Verification image.
• Adapted and customized the Google site search for use on moe365.org

We also have had students very talented in graphics and photography, who have:

• Created animated GIFs that add interest to the site
• Drawn and/or edited custom graphics, and pictures for our site
• Edited photos for the Web, and optimized them to small file sizes for fast page loading, even for those on dial-up
• Created a custom MOE-themed desktop background available for download on the site

The site layout, including the organization of the navigation, the graphic representations, the look-and-feel, and the ideas come from our dedicated Web Team. It has been a pleasure to work with the bright, enthusiastic MOE Web Team students for six years, and they have helped keep me feeling young!

Please note that for the privacy protection of our students we do not put students' names with their photos on this site, and students are generally referred to only by their first names. The only students who have their names and e-mail addresses posted here are those to whom public inquiries should be sent, for instance the Webmaster and Team Captain. Information such as our Team Roster, detailed travel itineraries and internal Forums are all available to Team Members only. This precludes our inclusion of such human interest items as student profiles, but we feel that the precautions are worthwhile.
